Funding Frequently Asked Questions
What services does CCCS charge for?
The only on-going service CCCS charges for is our Debt Solver Plan (DSP) plan. There is a one-time $25 set-up fee and then a $25 monthly maintenance fee. All fees can be waived if you and your counselor feel your financial situation warrants. Some of the CCCS education seminars have a small fee in order to offset curriculum costs. All of the counseling at CCCS is free. This includes budget, housing, and pre-bankruptcy counseling.
How does CCCS get paid by creditors?
CCCS receives an average of 4 cents per dollar they return to creditors through the DSP plan repayment from clients. These donations are received by CCCS electronically, by check and by deduction from client payments. Each client is always credited 100% of their creditor payment to each credit grantor.
What other ways does CCCS receive funding?
CCCS receives grant funds, donations, fundraisers, and client fees. CCCS of South Texas is also an affiliate United Way agency in four area United Way organizations.
What fundraisers does CCCS currently conduct?
Each year CCCS has a benefit golf tournament. The event receives monetary and in-kind donations. In 2006, CCCS raised over 14,000 toward financial literacy education. The golf tournament will take place on July 13, 2007 in Corpus Christi at an area golf course. If you are interested in sponsoring or playing in the tournament, please contact Melissa Goonan at 800-333-4357.
