CCCS Sources of Financial Support
Counseling and education services at CCCS of South Texas are free of charge, largely due to the financial support of creditors, grants, and client fees. They support CCCS because they recognize the important role we play in helping people repay their debts and avoid bankruptcy. most of our funding comes from voluntary contributions from credit grantor's who participate in Debt Management Plans (DMP). Since creditors have a financial interest in getting paid, most are willing to make a contribution to help fund CCCS. These contributions are usually calculated on a percentage of payments you make through the DMP- up to 15 percent of each payment received. However, your creditor account will always be credited with 100 percent of the amount you pay through us and we will work with all your creditors regardless of whether they contribute to our agency.
Grants and fund-raisers make over 50% of CCCS of South Texas' annual budget. These funds go to support consumer education, financial literacy materials and budget counseling.
If you are interested in helping us fulfill our mission to help people with their personal finances consider supporting CCCS. We have opportunities for volunteers, in-kind donations and a variety of other ways you can help.
