Debt Management Plan

The Debt Solver Plan (DSP) at CCCS of South Texas has provided thousands of South Texans an honest way to repay their debts since 1969. The DSP is a signature program for debtors to work with their creditors to repay 100% of their debt.

Before a client enters into a DSP a certified counselor assesses your current financial situation. Only 1 out of every 5 counseling clients go on to be a DSP at CCCS of South Texas. By choosing to repay your debt through the DSP, as an alternative to bankruptcy, creditors may help with reductions of interest or payments. Each situation is different and the only way to know if a DSP is right for you is to take advantage of our free counseling. In budget counseling a certified counselor will help you develop a workable budget and discuss your individual situtation.

If you are a candidate for DSP your counselor will explain how the program works in great detail along with giving you information to take home. We want you to make an educated decision and we will help you understand all your options. CCCS of South Texas charges a $25 one-time set up fee and a $25 monthly maintenance fee for administering the DSP. CCCS is a non-profit, United Way organization and your $25 per month goes to pay for overhead such as telephone, postage, utilities, and staffing. The fee can also be waived if your counselor feels your financial situation warrants. No one is refused service due to an inability to pay fees.

Our average DSP client stays on the program for about 32 months. The plans can be shorter or longer depending on the client and their individual debt situation. CCCS clients have paid over $15,545,893 in 2005. One of the differences about CCCS of South Texas is that we are local and have offices throughout South Texas in which you can speak with your counselor or account manager in person. CCCS also provides you Internet and toll free access to ask questions about your program.
