Consumer Credit Counseling Service of South Texas is committed to maintaining the highest industry standards for non-profit community service based agencies. CCCS holds the following affliations and certifications:

The National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC)

NFCC Logo Founded in 1951, the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), through its member agecies, sets the national standard for quality credit counseling, debt reduction services, and financial wellness education.

The NFCC is the nation's largest and longest serving nonprofit credit counseling organiztion, with 115 member agencies and more than 1,000 local offices throughout the country. NFCC certified counselors are dedicated to helping those in debt make a full recovery from serious money problems, both financially and personally.

The Council on Accreditation (COA)

COA Logo COA is an international, independent, not-for-profit, child and family-service and behavioral healthcare accrediting organization. It was founded in 1977 by the Child Welfare League of America and Family Service America (now the Alliance for Children and Families). Originally known as an accrediting body for family and childrenęs agencies, COA currently accredits 38 different service areas and over 60 types of programs.

COA views accreditation as a catalyst for change that builds on an organization's strengths and helps it achieve better results in all areas. The accreditation process is designed to meet the needs of diverse organizations. An organization is evaluated against best-practice standards, which are developed using a consensus model with input from a wide range of service providers, funders, experts, policymakers and consumers.

United Way

United Way Logo Consumer Credit Counseling Service of South Texas is an affliate member of several United Way agencies in South Texas. Since CCCS services 20 counties we are member agencies in the United Ways of Victoria, South Texas, Coastal Bend, Southern Cameron County and Northern Cameron County. CCCS receives designated donations from supporters through our United Way affliation.

Better Business Bureau

Better Business Bureau Logo The Better Business Bureau (BBB) system, was founded in 1912 and is today supported by more than 300,000 local business members nationwide. It is dedicated to fostering fair and honest relationships between businesses and consumers, instilling consumer confidence and contributing to an ethical business environment.

All local Better Business Bureaus are private, non-profit organizations funded by membership dues and other support. The mission of the BBB is to promote and foster the highest ethical relationship between businesses and the public through voluntary self-regulation, consumer and business education, and service excellence.
